Is Floyd Mayweather an MMA Fighter?
Floyd Mayweather is not and has never been a MMA fighter, but one of the most successful boxers of all time. Mayweather would fight professionally for 21 years and accumulate a Boxing record of 50-0, and retire undefeated. He wouldn't stop boxing however, as he'd hold 'Exhibition' matches against people like Logan Paul.
The reason why many get confused on whether he was a Boxer or MMA fighter is due to his last Boxing fight being against MMA superstar, Conor McGregor.
McGregor would have just won two belts in the UFC, becoming the first 'Double Champ' in history, holding two belts simultaneously.
McGregor would then transition to Boxing for one fight, and lose to Floyd Mayweather via way of TKO.
Mayweather also is a Boxing promoter, running his own Boxing promotion known as Mayweather Promotions, where he at one point represented fighters such as Gervonta 'Tank' Davis.
Mayweather Enters Octagon
A year after his Professional Boxing retirement, Mayweather would drop several videos on his Instagram account, of him walking shirtless into a MMA octagon.
This act immediately drove fans to a speculation-frenzy, as many wondered if he would actually fight in the UFC, who he would fight against, and how he would do.
However, years passed and Mayweather never ended up making his MMA debut.
