When Did Rose Namajunas Have Long Hair?
Rose Namajunas would sport her long hair throughout the majority of her life, but would suddenly decide to shave it days before her fight against Paige Van Zant in December of 2015.
Namjunas would be seen for the first time with her new shaved-look, during one of her interviews with MMA Fighting 2 days before the fight.
Naturally, reporters would ask her why she had decided to cut her hair, and Namajunas would explain her perspective:
"Why is hair even a big deal?
That's part of the reason why I cut it off too-- Just to ask the question why does anyone care?
But that's just the way that society is nowadays, they focus on really weird things.
Years of years of playing in sports, not just fighting, and always being a tomboy growing up.
And not really wanting to do my hair- I don't even know how to do it.
I don't know I just put a whole bunch of product in it.
I want to be able to wake up in the morning and feel pretty, not have to do a whole bunch of crap.
It's definitely more of shedding my past in terms of psychologically mean to my hair as well as well as physically just ripping it out all of the time."

Career Success After Shaving Her Hair
Despite what others may think about her having shaved her head, one thing is clear.
Namajunas has made tremendous strides in her MMA career.
Namajunas would sport a 3-2 professional record while having long hair.
After shaving her head she would rack up 8 more wins, including one of the biggest upsets in MMA history.
She would win the Women's Strawweight championship by knocking out Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and then defending her new belt by defeating her again in the rematch.
This isn't to say that simply shaving her head has made all of the difference, but clearly it has helped her in her day to day processes in some type of way.
