What to Wear to a UFC Fight

There's no official dress code for a UFC event, and what you wear to a fight can vary drastically depending on what section you are going to sit in.

Most fans come to UFC events in a 'Casual dress code', which means:

 For Men For Women
Jeans, dress shirt (casually turn down collared), and a T-shirt or sleeveless shirt
Jeans, a T-shirt, Skirts

However, if you're sitting in the floor-seat sections next to the VIP sections (typically reserved for fighters and the guest of fighters), you'll want to button up a bit more to fit in.

The reason for this is that this is the section where many celebrities, both fighters and non-fighters will sit.

Celebrities normally come ready for the cameras, and at minimum to take a picture for social media.

If you don't want to feel out of place, feel free to take it up a notch and dress business casual or even business formal.

Are You Going to an After Party?

How to dress at a UFC event ultimately comes down to three things:

  1. Do you want to fit in with your section
  2. Do you mind sticking out in your section
  3. Are you going to an after party?

If you're going to an after party, you'll want to come dressed with your best outfit.

Chances are, that you won't have time to go back to the hotel to get changed, especially if you're staying for the entire event.

Most UFC events end past midnight, and most clubs and bars close around 2 am (except in Miami), which means that every second counts.

Overall

As long as you don't come in gym clothes, you aren't going to get dirty looks or stick out.

Typically, most UFC fans come in jeans and a shirt.

However, those who have paid a premium to sit on the floor seats to be near other fighters and celebrities, will normally dress up in business formal attire.

If you aren't planning on going out after the fights, just come in comfortable jeans.

If you're planning on going out after the fights, but don't have floor seats, you can still come dressed how you like.

Just make sure that you know what is allowed at the bars/clubs that you're planning to go afterwards.

For example, some clubs don't allow any type of hat.

Don't get caught in a situation where you didn't do your hair, just to wear a hat, and then have to take off the hat before you're allowed in the club.
