Who is Khamzat Chimaev's Manager?

Khamzat Chimaev would make a managerial change in 2021, and would hire Majdi Shammas as his new manager. Shammas is a Swedish manager who is also the CEO of the Allstars Training Center.

Here, Shammas can be seen with a group of some of the most important figures in the UFC.

When it comes to signing contracts and negotiating deals, there's nobody more important in the UFC than Dana White, Sean Shelby and Hunter Campbell.

The Allstars Training Center also happens to be the same gym that Chimaev trains at, and has been the home to other notable UFC fighters such as Alexander Gustafsson and Ilir Latifi.

Why Did Chimaev Change Managers?

Khamzat Chimaev was previously managed by one of the most successful MMA managers in the game, Ali Abdelaziz.

Who is Ali Abdelaziz?

Abdelaziz is the founder and president of Dominance MMA Management, which represents notable UFC fighters such as:

  • Khabib Nurmagomedov
  • Kamaru Usman
  • Henry Cejudo
  • Islam Mahkachev
  • Justin Gaethje
  • Gilbert Burns
  • Belal Muhammad
  • Frankie Edgar

Chimaev Says He Will Smash Khabib

During an Instagram Live session on Social Media, someone would leave the message "Khabib is going to smash you" for Khamzat to see.

Being the ultra-competitive person that he is, Khamzat would respond that he would smash Khabib.

This response would quickly make its rounds, and Khamzat would later reveal that this caused a strain in his relationship with Khabib.

Khamzat would explain:

Someone saying, "Khabib going to smash you" and in my head, if somebody says he’s going to smash you, of course I’m going to answer, "Nobody is going to smash me. I’m going to smash everybody."'

Khamzat would explain that it was a "miscommunication", and that he should have never answered this question in the first place, but the damage had been done.

It is no secret that Abdelaziz is very close to his clients, and refers to their relationship as a 'brotherhood'.

Due to this, these comments not only strained the relationship with Khabib, but with many others involved in that brotherhood.

Shortly after, fans begin to speculate whether Khamzat had changed management, as he was no longer on the Dominance MMA Roster page.

Khamzat Apologizes to Khabib

A few months later, Abdelaziz would explain in an interview that Khamzat had apologized to Khabib, and that they are now on good terms.

Abdelaziz would say the following on the situation:

We’re all brothers. We’re all Muslim brothers here. We all come from the same bloodline. And at the end of the day, Khamzat, he’s young. He’s new to the sport. He’s a good kid, man. He’s a good guy. I know Khamzat very well. And at the end of the day, at the time, a lot of people took an insult to it. And I understand where’s Khabib’s coming from and where everybody’s coming from,”
